You know the next time you sit down to write something that it has about a snowball's chance in hell of getting read by anyone else other than you. Which is essentially having a digital conversation with yourself. On the internet. strange......

Moving.
I'm moving to Kansas City tomorrow after work. Staying with a friend of a good friend in a comfortable room at a reasonable price. I don't have that much to move and that = less hassle. The move itself isn't without a little excitement, though. Part of the plan calls for lashing a queen size futon matress and frame to the roof of my volvo and driving 70 miles down the interstate. Factor in a broken speedometer, gas gauge that's working 'part-time' these days, and a general mechanical state of readiness roughly equivalent to that of a burro, and the picture gets a little clearer.

Career.
I'm intentionally avoiding the word 'job' there. I swore I was never going to have one of those again and I mean it. I've stumbled into a short-term position with BNIM Architects in KC until around the 1st of October and I think it's going to be a good experience. Solid projects, good atmosphere, and free coffee. Doesn't really get much better. Did I mention they bought my bus pass?

Other.
Or what I've done other than work in Topeka. Reading all of the Sherlock Holmes stories. That 'comfortable room at a reasonable price' was a bit out of one of them. I like them. Also reading a book on clouds. Or well, I guess it's mostly pictures. Though I'd like to learn a bit more about them. Mainly in how they relate to climate and weather. Not sure why.

Watched a couple movies. That's a bit of an understatement, but I watched a couple good ones, anyway. Really liked Lawrence of Arabia. Probably my favorite one of the summer. Directed by David Lean. Also liked Dr. Zhivago, also directed by Lean. Certainly these two movies are in a category by themselves of those I've screened this summer. Watched for the ( ?) time all of the James Bond's on the shelf. Never get tired of them. Watched Hellboy the other night. I thought this movie kicked ass, but it reminds me of a band i know called 'slobberbone.' I'm not totally getting the vision on the name selection. While Hellboy makes for an okay comic strip title, it's not a movie you want to go around telling people 'hey, i watched hellboy last night.' This is strictly judging from a few people's reaction who I told about it. Just kind of quick side-glance with a small '?.'

Well, me, it's been good talking to you. But I hate to burn too much of my blogging energy at once.

"Remember: Y'all is singular. All y'all is plural. All y'all's is plural possessive." --Kinky Friedman

Here's a new one...

What does blogging, driving, and eating have in common? They're all things I now do. We'll see how long it lasts.
